Yea, ignore him, he knows not what he says
Sorry vantang…gonna have to disagree with you. If you’re not using VE, you’re not using one of your largest assets. I hardly ever r aggro, and if I do it’s bause of an “oops, just hit bk-to-bkrits on MBSW:D for over 5k” not bause of VE. Just wait for your tank to land aouple sunders before you go nuts and you should be ok. Your healer will love you on those casional 6+ pulls. And for the love of god, run a threat meter. If you see yourself getting ready to r, then pull off…TOO EASY. If you’re not running VTVE, then why did they even bring you? Sorry, if this sounds like a you’re wrongI’m right – wasn’t meant that way. I simply disagree. This is just the mentality I take in to a group when I go. Hurt as mh as Ian, heal as mh as Ian and provide bk as mh mana as Ian. My to fudge, however, was a “you’re wrong” .
I’ll agree with Azz on this one. VE is instantast, gives EVERYONE life, and no matter what lvl you are it’s only 40 mana.at lvl 61 I have almost 6k mana, and spells that do that mh, and are instantast for that little mana? Sign me up plz.
Yea, I’d like to give a few ts to ventang as well
Mind BlastSWD rotations should be okay on trash, espially with a good tank. My experiee is slightly strange, however, as I almost always run an extremely high-damage group (favorite is me, smruin lk, feral druid or prot pally, restobalae druid or holy pally, fire mage – major dps group). You shouldn’t have mh for aggro problems running VEVT, espially if you don’t use Blast and Death very mh. Bosses that allow (with a really good tank) it I usually run barely under aggro pull, hit BlastDeath, tank taunts, and my aggroeiling just ireased by a third
BoS helps a lot from pallies, ofourse, whh is why I like to run with them. I usually run with a Di priest as main healer, though, so trinket + PI + shadowfiend + refresh VTPain is eellent at the 45 sond mark (when they both need refreshed).
Well with thehanges to Mind blast, it’s very unlikely you’ll pull aggro. I’m a PvE raid dps shadow priest, this is my truealling in WoW. I have Shadow Affinity and it REALLYuts down on the threat I pull. Anyway, the thing I think this thread has not tohed on mh is the ft that a shadow priest is a GREAT supportlass, not always arazy dpslass, or a stfu-and-heallass. In Karazhan I note that I’m usually 4 or 5 on the damage meter, whh is expted of me bause there’s a rogue and a mage and a lk e. But I bring a lot more to the raid than just wtfdps. No matter whh way you look at it Vampir Embre helps the healers out so mh, not to mention the insane amount of mana you’re giving bk to them with Vampir Toh. I try not to look at my damage as what I primarily bring to a raid, but the extra mana and the extra healing as well. My gear buildup has zero +shadow dmg, it’s all dmgheal. This allows me to drop shadow form and help heal if a healer goes down or something. Dmgheal only, oupled with an 11k mana pool make me a pretty dent healer if I have to be. So the point of this is, you’re a shadow priest. I hope you’re a good, intelligent priest who doesn’t just look at the damage meter. If this sounds like you (gear aside, skill only), then don’t take any sh*t from anyone. Shadow priests bring so mh to a party or a raid nowadays that youan’t just ignore them any more. Don’t take any sh*t! If you’re with a group who does that to you again, and makes a resto shaman dps, then you want to get away from them as fast as youan bause the leader is a moron. Don’t take their sh*t, you’re better than that (eept for gofudgeyourself).
Im a resto shaman (lvl 53) and i love healing and the survivability of the sp. I do little if any soloing and get my exp solely from instaes. Im wondering if this is going to have tohange when i hit ol. If so i dont want to be taking 10 minutes to kill a monster. So i was thinking about going bk to enhaement to make 58-70 easier.an i still heal with an offset as enhaement? Should i swih? any help would be appriated
If you are happy being resto stk with it, it is an awesome sp (I just love my DPS too mh) and you will have no problem getting groups with it.
shamans are the worst healerns in the game and probably in humanity go enhaement, dual wield and win =)
Unedated noob wrote:shamans are the worst healerns in the game Shamans might beonsidered the worst healers whenompared with Pallys, Priests and Druids, but the differee is so minimal that even the slightest bit of skill will easilyompensate for that. I think Blizzard has done a good job of balaing the healinglasses WoW; They all have their strengths and weaknesses and they all bring something different and desirable to the table. Saying that Shammys are the worst healers is like saying someone is the worst player on the Dream Team.
I tried out enhaement and went bk to resto. I got myself a buh of ne dps gear and went out to quest. it would take me about 20-30 sonds to kill something. after eh battle i would have to heal and my mana would be shot after about 4 kills. So i went bk and dided i wanted to solo more. it takes me about a minute to kill something without spamming shks. I refresh es and drink after around 6 kills. It’s slower but its a trade off imo. and ian still heal instaes without a problem. Pvp is ne too as long as i dont run into an arms warrior (gah i hate mortal strike) so yeah thanx all
thanks for all the help. Mh appriated.
There is the one from Vorpil in SL as well, got that by unanimous vote of my guildies in the run with me hehe. I use it often and it is my friend.
Do you know how mh it dumps Dreadlord? Do you find it dumps enough to justify repling a dps boost trinket? Do you use itonstantly or just when your in trouble?
I believe it dumps about 1k. As far as repling a DPS trinket goes, I don’t tend to find my DPS lking, IMO the primary limiter on a Shammy’s damage is our threat gain and the need to stop DPS to avoid pulling aggro. So arguably this trinket slightly dreases my DPS but ireases my overall damage done… I don’t use it when I am partying with our guilds main tank (a paladin with ridulous threat) but with some of our less geared tanks I find it invaluable. If I ever PuG I also equ it for the first few pulls while I gauge the tanks ability’s, if I have no threat issues I swap in a DPS trinket. At the end of the day you have no DPS when you’re dead.
getsuga wrote:tually, the way I understand it, 1 point of healing done (doesn’t ilude overhealing)=0.5 damage threat. Indeed, that is thease for healers that are anylass other than paladins. For them, it’s 1 pt healing = .25 damage threat.
gpyfb how’s that hourglass working out for you?
Well i do have an alt w pretty high skinning, and for as far as mats for hlem go i have tons of mats in my bank and when that runs out i have np buying the mats for the few pots i do use. armory.worldofwaraftomharter…p;n=Problem as an idea of what my gear is… Link to this 0 Messages skped by filter settings, 3 displayed.Thread Index New Subjt Reply to this 2 Replies (Seah Forums) Forum by ZAM Network v2.7 Allakhazam’s Forums World of Waraftlass Diussions Shaman droping herb for LWing? opy; • ZAM Store • About ZAM • Site FAQ • Press • Premium • Advertise Someontent is lensed under the GNU Free Dumentation Lense • Privy Poly • Terms of Serve
I agree with the above, drop Imp VW and imp firebolt, the 2 are not only mutually elusive but also never used in raids. For what your trying to do, I agree with the above Sp as well. However, lets do something a little different. If I asked you to name 2 talents that youan not live without, what would you say? Keep it realist, as in dont say UA and Shadow fury
The reason I bring it up, is bause you have somewhat of a dot build, and somewhat of a sb build. I know for a ft that a pure affltion build will provide eellent dps, and a pure destro build will also provide eellent dps, but it seems that the build you are going for is a mix&mah of the two, I’m not sure how well it will do. (no rhyme intended there.) I was a smruin build pre-, and it took a long, long time to pry my fingers off of SM and go destro, or vise versa (I alternate builds, a lot.)
Thanks for the adve people, rate up for everyone
Does Soul Shon add a bonus from the drain life as well, or just from the other affltion spells? Does Shadow Embre add to the Soul Shon bonus? How mh bonusan you get with Soul Shon during solo play (i.e. only your effts)?
no bonus from drain life, but shadow embre does. definatly give it a point if you have soul shon
I think the most magal debuffs youan have on a target while solo is 5.orr,oA, SL, UA, and the Shadow Embre debuff doesount. so, 5% x 5 debuffs = 25% extra. definitely worth the 2 points in my opinion. Edit: Imp SB debuffount? never took note of it before. If so, it would be 6.
His sig has his Allakhazam profile. While andotal, there’s a warlk in my guild who went SMNether Prot for Illhoof and just didn’t resp for aouple months. Granted, he really knows what he’s doing and he’s got some pretty dent Kara gear, but heould still hold his own against the lks that went deeper into Affltion. Now,omparing his build to yours, he had Shon Life, Nightfall, and an extra point in Empoweredorruption, while you have the extra 5% from S. I think his build would pull ahead a bit just with the extra DoT, while you’ll have harder-hitting SBolts andoDCoA. If you go that route, I might suggest getting a bit more spell hit (assuming a raid, ofourse), sie you’ll be relying a bit more on Sboltsompared to deeper Affltion.
Sorry, my aim with thishar is for raiding only. No PvP apart from random world eounters. We areurrently farming Gruul, and hope to take down Mags and Loot Reaver some time soon. Spell hit is something I am working on improving now, and willhange some gems to reflt this. To be honest, the ft that no-one hasalled me out for being aomplete noob based on the build I linked is eouraging
You are aomplete noob for that sp of yours you linked.. heh, jk. But I would have done it a bit differently: Sp With this, instead of having improved voidwalker (whh I don’t see how this would help in raiding), empoweredorruption, improved drain soul, and improved firebolt (sie your pets don’t usually attk in raids, you just want the imps blood pt and put him on passive), I would get: Affltion Soul Shon (for when there will definetly be 60% worth of affltion effts on eh mob) Nightfall (for theonstant stream of instant SBs, self explained) Destrtion Intensity (just seems better to have than improved firebolt..) Demonology Fel StamInt (instead of improved vw, just add 3 more to fel stamint however you like) Now, I do not raid with my warlk, but I have raided with him and I think I have a dentoept of how it works. So, go ahead andommentchange all that I said as mh as you like. Hope this helps!

I just swihed from the S3 shoulders to the Mantle of Abrahmis, so i assume it’s an upgrade over the S2. I needed the extra defensedodge to reh 490 defense while maximizing my stamina. (took off a defense trinket for a +51 stamina trinket bause of mantle :O) And a side note, the 5-man hero defense needed is 485orrt? I tend to let my defense fall to 486 with a boost of DPS in 5-mans, and i was just makin sure 486 was still ok.

currently using S2 shoulder but i did not spend theash for tankinghant… i have them gem’d with +12 sta. will reple the AP ehant with tankinghant. i am having no issues going as far as Illhoof and Aran, but it seems Netherspite, Prie and Nightbane, i’m having diffulties… what should be my stats to MT Spite, N.Bane, Prie? Prie, i guess it’s more a timing thing? to spot enfeeble and git out? Netherspite, the damned beams… i’ve been looking at some videos of this fight but it seems some folks have different strats… Nightbane… first time seeing it yesterday… looks ne, imagine if it was a mount…
The tanking ehant is from Aldoryer and does notost any gold but 8 holy dustsaane runes.

You’rehoosing between something like 20 stamina vs .3% of dodge. Sond of all, this line
